Nurturing Justice Seekers

Dear Friend of Nurturing Justice,

As we approach the year 2026, we celebrate an important milestone—Nurturing Justice turns five. For the past five years, our organization has been devoted to cultivating communities that support transformation in relationships and encourage racial conciliation, all with the goal of challenging and dismantling systems that harm our communities. We have stood in solidarity with those who refuse to let injustice prevail, affirming our collective resilience and determination.

Our Mission and Evolution

We began with a straightforward mission: to build cross-racial relationships, raise awareness, educate, and equip justice seekers of all ages to dismantle the hierarchy of human value in the human family. Over our five years we have worked with over 500 people to build cross-racial relationships and increase awareness of intersectional justice issues. Over time, our mission has grown. We introduced youth programs and more comprehensive learning on justice issues. We also started the Transformational Remnant, a monthly gathering of everyday justice seekers who meet to reflect and collectively strengthen their commitment to justice and human thriving.

Responding to Challenges, Deepening Commitment

Despite the challenges and attacks that justice work has faced in recent times, our resolve has only grown stronger. We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting those on the front lines. The reality is clear—many justice workers are experiencing burnout and need immediate, tangible support.

Restorative Retreats: A Path to Renewal

In response to this urgent need, we began offering small restorative retreats in recent years. The feedback we received was unmistakable: when justice seekers are cared for and nurtured, their capacity to persist and thrive is strengthened. These retreats have become a vital source of renewal and energy for those who carry the weight of justice work.

New Initiatives for 2026

Building on this foundation, we are launching a targeted initiative in 2026 to address the challenges of our time. The expanded efforts will include:

• Direct support for justice organizers who are holding the line
• Support for those who accompany immigrants who are facing ICE aggression
• Building safe and stable spaces, and cultivating resources for our trans siblings so that their stories can be told and heard
• Expanded sustaining spiritual and respite retreats that offer holistic energy healing and rejuvenating practices, enabling justice workers to remain fueled, focused, and fortified

This represents the evolution of Nurturing Justice: from informing and accompanying justice seekers and advocates to sustaining them for the long haul.
